This is a beer whose fragrance of fresh yeast with a light, flowery rosy touch is especially pleasant. Its flavor, noticed when tasting it, only accentuates the pleasant sensations perceived in the aroma , while revealing a light but pleasant touch of roasted malt. This top fermented Trappist beer is not pasteurized.

Brewed by Rodenbach in Roeselare, West Flanders, Belgium. A blend of 1/3 young beer and 2/3 of beer aged 2 years in large oak vats. The more important proportion of oak matured beer contributes to its fruity taste, complexity and intensity. While cherry and other fruit flavors are prevalent, no fruit is added to this beer. A special yeast, the barrel aging process, and lactobacillus bacteria impart these complex flavors. The finish is worthy of a great wine.

Brewed by St. Bernardus in Watou, West Flanders. Dark gold in color, with a flowery, fruity, slightly yeasty taste. It has a mild sweetness and hint of bitterness on the palate.
